Joseph Rhodes Limited takes silver at prestigious regional business awards

Joseph Rhodes, a Wakefield-based manufacturer of capital equipment for special purpose applications, including aerospace and heavy ceramics, has won silver at this year’s prestigious EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards.

Joseph Rhodes, which employs over 200 staff, was narrowly pipped to the post for the Partnerships with Education Award. Judges awarded it with silver in recognition of the strides the Company has made in finding exciting new ways to work with education providers to promote engineering and manufacturing careers.

The Company was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics and was up against stiff competition from a range of impressive businesses, small and large, from across the region.

Chief Executive Officer, Mark Ridgway OBE, DL, at Joseph Rhodes, says: “This achievement is down to our team’s hard work and dedication - we are delighted to have been recognised. Not only does it demonstrate the valuable contribution made by local manufacturers like ourselves, but it also puts us on the map as a modern and innovative company. This is great news for us to share with all our staff, customers and suppliers.”

Carl D’Ammassa, Group Managing Director - Business Finance at Aldermore, says: “Manufacturers are leading the way in forming high-value partnerships with education providers to promote engineering and manufacturing careers. This work is vital if we are to inspire the UK’s future engineers. This award is justly deserved and Joseph Rhodes should be applauded for their efforts in this important field.”
