Group Rhodes commends employees for 50 years company service. 

Group Rhodes CEO, Mark Ridgway OBE, DL and company directors Raghunath Chandrasekaran and James Gascoigne commended factory machinist, Bob Marshall and stores supervisor, Brian Bowery for their outstanding achievement and loyalty to the Company. 

Both joined the Company (then Joseph Rhodes Limited) in 1966 under the apprenticeship scheme. Bob Marshall commented, “I have been given the opportunity to work on a number of different machines over the years, and have enjoyed every minute. I have produced components for machinery as varied as Superplastic Forming presses through to handling equipment for the quarrying and mining industry.” 

Following the completion of his apprenticeship, Brian Bowery worked as a machine fitter, and then progressed to an installation engineer and is currently the Stores supervisor. Installing mechanical and hydraulic presses across the world has made Brian’s job particularly interesting.

Joseph Rhodes Limited is an SME and yet continuously rewards engineers for completing 25 and 50 years company service. The Company is proud to offer a series of career paths across several engineering disciplines and has been rewarded with a very low labour turnover rate. 

The Company's focus on training and professional development has been rewarded by qualifications at every academic level from NVQ’s and ONC’s through to First Class Degrees and even an M.Phil. Group Rhodes' strength is in its product differentiation, and this in turn stems from the quality of the people that it trains and employs. 

The Company has a successful track record of working closely with learning centres. Local colleges, including the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre training school in Rotherham form the main source of apprenticeship training and are pivotal to continuous education and personal development initiatives. Equally Group Rhodes operates strong working relationships with Sheffield Hallam University and Leeds Beckets University.
