Recent Projects

 

RTS has an international client list from the UK, Europe, USA, India and the Middle East – for whom commissions undertaken include:

 

·          The design and manufacture of a complete restraightening facility for a major steel producer. Described by the client as a “World Beater” the total project started from a clean sheet of paper and culminated into a multi million pound production cell incorporating laser line emitters and CCD cameras providing the user with a “fingerprint” image of before and after processing, essential in today’s world of ISO quality procedures and traceability.

 

·          The creation of a multi-machine Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) manufacturing cell for one of the leading lights in the automotive tier one supply industry. The ten machine cell incorporated the bespoke design of hydraulic clamping (moulds), component ejection equipment, tool handling automation and storage and was the culmination of six months joint feasibility and consultancy. As a result of the successful implements Just In Time (JIT) efficiency was secured by the ability of the cell to implement in excess of 216 mould changes per 18 hours period, this in a 24-7 automotive part production environment.

 

·          Tool maintenance, performance and safety were addressed by the design, manufacture and installation of a bespoke piece of equipment capable of separating the two halves of production tooling weighing between 8-10 tonnes. This rugged equipment has been working trouble free in the plant of a 24/7 operation UK automotive parts supplier for the last eight years.

 

·          Multi tier storage systems for production tooling weighing 3-to-40 tonnes, incorporating automatic storage and programmable retrieval system ensures seamless tool changes makes Just-In-Time production performance more effective whilst providing significant improvements to bottom line performance.
